Investment Processes

At Arjent, we are able to advise upon and make investments in a broad range of asset classes from quoted equities and fixed income instruments right through to alternative investment opportunities.

At the service level,we currently offer three main types of investment services:

• Advisory Dealing - this caters for investors who wish to retain responsibility for the composition and management of their portfolio and simply want advice from us on specific individual investments;

• Advisory Managed Service - this is suitable for those clients who want Arjent to compose and manage their investment portfolio, but still have the ability to influence and vet investment decisions;
• Discretionary Managed Service - this service is best suited to those clients who do not wish to have day-to-day involvement in the running of their investment portfolio, but instead appoint Arjent to managed and make decisions on their investment portfolio without the need for a discussion with the investor first.

Prior to conducting business with each new investor, one of our highly trained team of Investment Managers will aim to understand what level of investment service is most appropriate by reviewing their personal circumstances. This will include setting relevant investment return and risk objectives.

At the core of our approach to the investment process is the Arjent Investment Committee. The committee is chaired by our Chief Investment Officer, James Hutson, and comprises a cross section of investment analysts and Investment Managers. The team meets weekly to discuss and confirm our prevailing economic stance and asset management allocation. Once agreed this 'top-down' investment management approach is completed by 'bottom-up' individual shares and collectives selection. Our dedicated team of investment analysis ensure that every investment recommendation is thoroughly vetted before making it onto the Arjent recommended list of investments.

Ultimately this investment process manifests itself in the form of the suite of Arjent Model Portfolios which cater for Managed Service clients seeking income, growth, or a balance of the two. However, we also apply this rigorous process and resulting values to our Advisory Dealing, Discretionary Managed Service and alternative investment (for eligible investors) recommendations.
